2016 US Canine Biathlon
Anniston, Alabama (May 22, 2016) – Five members of the Red Mountain Search Dog Association participated in 2016 U.S. Canine Biathlon in Anniston, Alabama this weekend. The dog and handler teams competed in the 3rd annual event hosted by AMK9 Academy.
The 5K event located at AMK9’s 320 acre facility featured more than 15 purpose-built obstacles over varied terrain including forest, sand, and water.
This year, AMK9 teamed up with 1st Foundation, an Alabama-based non-profit that provides assistance to the members and family members of Special Operations Forces and Police Special Operations. Also, 1st Foundation facilities K9 adoptions of military and police working dogs after their service is complete.
The members of the Red Mountain Search Dog Association who participated are looking forward to next year!
